I’m not sure how you found The Wine CEO, but I’m so glad you’re here!
My name is Sarah and I’m the author, podcast host, and owner of The Wine CEO. I’m a Certified Sommelier and Wine enthusiast living in Orlando, Florida where I’ve spent almost 10 years working in the food and wine industry.
I decided to start The Wine CEO because I have a passion for helping others learn about wine and become better wine consumers. I often have friends and clients tell me that wine is intimidating and overwhelming. Sadly, I agree that sommeliers and wine industry professionals can make wine seem confusing and unapproachable - but it doesn’t have to be this way! Learning about wine, and becoming a more informed customer, is actually easy and really fun. With my blog and podcast, I hope to offer a unique perspective in how approachable wine can be.
What makes me qualified to teach about wine?
Over the past decade, I’ve worked in nearly every Food & Beverage setting from catered events to 5 diamond restaurants, private clubs, and everything in between! During this time, I developed a passion for studying wine and teaching my teams how to sell, serve, and taste wines. I have also invested in a lot of formal training and have both my Level 1 and Level 2 Sommelier Certifications from the Master Court of Sommeliers. (I’ll do a future blog post about what each certification means, but for now, I can assure you that it means I am very able to bore you about soil types and weather patterns from all over the world! In all seriousness, it also means that I am a formally trained sommelier who has passed rigorous written exams, practical assessments, and blind tasting exams on wines from all over the world.) This formal training in combination with my industry experience has given me an excellent perspective into making wine understandable and relatable to the average wine consumer.
What can you expect from The Wine CEO?
‘CEO’ actually stands for two things which make up my mission - Community and Empower Others. The goal of this brand is to create a community of wine enthusiasts. Whether you follow on Instagram or become a faithful podcast subscriber, I want this to be a community where you can come to learn about wine and connect with others who share a passion for food and wine. Hopefully you can take that passion and share it with the loved ones in your life, and continue to build your community in ways you never would have before.
Through this brand, I also hope to be able to empower others with wine knowledge that makes them feel more confident as a wine consumer. Have you ever gone to the grocery store and felt incredibly intimidated by the massive selection of wines and you were embarrassed to ask for help? Or perhaps you were at a nice restaurant and felt overwhelmed by the wine list and didn’t want to admit to the server that you had no idea what you were looking for? I don’t want you to ever feel intimidated or overwhelmed again! Each week on my podcast I’m going to focus on popular topics like “What wines are sweet?”, “What wine goes with pizza?”, and “How can I know if this wine will go with my food?”. I’m going to tackle common questions and hopefully shed light into some common misconceptions in the wine world!

Some wine content is difficult to understand without a map, diagram, or other note - so you may see me create a blog post every now and then to accompany some of these podcast episodes and further explain our topic. I will also post recipes, wine gift guides, and more exclusive content in blog posts!
