Back from Sabbatical

Paris <3

I’m back!! After a 5 month Sabbatical, I returned to The Wine CEO in October. And I have to say I MISSED THIS COMMUNITY! I missed creating a podcast each week, speaking with winemakers, chatting with you all about wine shopping and food pairing! So it’s been really nice to return to so many wonderful messages and encouraging notes. Thank you all for not forgetting about me <3

Many of you have asked what I was up to for the summer, so I wanted to share for anyone who may be interested!

I used my Sabbatical to:

  1. Completely disconnect from Social Media. It was wonderful to be off Instagram and YouTube for a few months! While it has become a main method of communication for so many around the globe, I have also found that I waste a lot of time scrolling! So it helped me step back and reevalutae how I can better structure my time on social media in the future.

  2. Time with family and friends! I got to visit lots of family and friends and spend a ton of dedicated time with them. Life gets busy, and The Wine CEO takes up a lot of my time! So it was nice to take a break and have extra time to catch up with loved ones!

  3. I worked…A LOT. My full time job has been going through a merger over the last few months and my job has been crazy busy! I work as a Director of HR for a tech company and I was given a ton of new projects to manage this summer, so the Sabbatical truly came at an optimal time as I started working 10-15 hours more each week. Thankfully this should wrap up in December of this year and I will be able to breathe again!

  4. I picked up some new hobbies! Sometimes you need a break from the things you love to try new things and discover new hobbies. This summer I fell in love with playing tennis and surfing!

  5. I traveled :) You all know I can’t sit still for too long, so I traveled to France again to visit Paris and Champagne. I also did some domestic travels and made lots of wonderful memories.

  6. I started Graduate School! (Because I’m not already over committed…..) This was something I’ve been debating for a few months, but I finally took the leap and enrolled in Midwestern Theological Seminary to get my Masters in Intercultural Studies. I don’t talk about my faith a lot on my wine podcast, but it’s the most important thing in my life and I decided I wanted to study it more in 2024 and take classes that I found interesting. The older I get, the more I want to do things that simply bring me joy and don’t always have an “end goal” for my career or financial success. This was one of them :)

  7. I bought a new car! It’s been years and I was way overdue.
